Denver Zoo is really a good one - they had a Kangaroo! But, what I loved was how similar some of their exhibits were to our own Oregon Zoo's newer ones (like the Lions and Monkeys). It makes me realize how far our Zoo has come in the last 10 years and where it is going - exciting!
This was a stop at some Pioneer Wagon thing - can you tell I didn't even pay attention? But the kids had fun climbing all over it.
Here we attempted to get some group shots - no such luck really. You will notice from here on out I just gave up and have a lot of single shots of kids. Why is it they will smile for you if it is just them? But, you add a friend or a sibling and all of the sudden they run the other way and/or turn their head (Andy), close either eyes (Rachel), look like they are in pain (Abby), or just... well, I guess Logan did fine. Maybe five is a good age for group pictures? I don't know... I will keep you posted...
Next Stop - the Carousel. We did this RIGHT after lunch - maybe not the smartest thing now that I stop and think about it. But, oh well... I didn't have to ride! And, no one got sick. So, it much have been fun, right?
After the Carousel, we checked out the Monkeys and handed out lots of snacks to the kids (can we say "missing nap time"?). They were actually really good, but I'm sure the snacks helped that! I know it helped me!
Our last stop, and MY personal favorite, was the BABY TIGERS!!! There were four of them and I think that they might have been the cutest things I have ever seen - next to my own kids that is! Abby told me that she wanted to take home three of them. It was hard not to take her up on it!
As we were heading it out, it started to rain and a thunderstorm started to roll in. Great timing I say! We headed home (after a quick stop at Starbucks!), had a nice warm and yummy CrockPot dinner and settled in for the evening. Good Day, Good Friends, Good Fun!
